Taking A ‘Bite out of Crime’ Suspicious Person Arrested On Warrant Charges

Sep 27, 2017 - The suspect is known to deputies as Nathan Michael Ballance, DOB 8/9/1990, and has an active felony warrant for robbery. Deputies established a perimeter, along with the assistance of the Flagler County FireFlight Emergency Helicopter and K-9 Deputy Tag. K-9 Tag was able to apprehend the suspect in the woods and Ballance was taken into custody.

Detective Receives Greatest Save Award

Sep 26, 2017 - Detective George Hristakopoulos was awarded the 2017 Greatest Save Law Enforcement Award from KinderVision on Monday evening. The award was created to honor individuals in law enforcement who have contributed significantly to the elimination of crimes against youth and children.

2017 National Night Out Community Event

Sep 25, 2017 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Flagler Beach Police Department, Bunnell Police Department and Flagler Sheriff’s Police Athletic League will host National Night Out on Tuesday, October 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Veterans Park in Flagler Beach. Juvenile Arrested for July Fireworks Burglary

Sep 21, 2017 - Around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jovawn Namor McClendon, 16, on charges of burglary of a structure, petit theft, and criminal mischief for burglarizing Big Nick’s Boom Boom Sticks in July.

Fireworks Victim Receives Help from Shriners Hospital

Sep 20, 2017 - Two boys, ages 7 and 8, sustained significant life altering injuries on Sunday, July 9th after lighting fireworks that exploded on them at Dr. Carver Park in Bunnell. The boys claimed they found the fireworks laying around but detectives believe they came from a burglarized fireworks business where dozens of extremely dangerous and altered fireworks were stolen.

Deputies Investigating Apparent Homicide

Sep 19, 2017 - Flagler Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning regarding a male lying in a driveway on Parkview Drive in Palm Coast. The victim was transported to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach where he later died.

Sep 19, 2017 - After a thorough investigation by detectives, Clarence Edward Murphy Jr, DOB 9/20/1975, was arrested for First Degree Murder. He is currently being booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility with no bond.

K-9 Deputy Takes Bite Out of Crime

Sep 13, 2017 - Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from Big Bear Lane in Palm Coast for a report of a car burglary. Deputies met with a victim who reported seeing a male take money from his vehicle and run down the street. A perimeter was established and Corporal Gimbel and his K-9 partner Marko apprehended the suspect.

Home Needing Repairs? Hire Licensed Contractors

Sep 12, 2017 - As the county begins to assess the damage from Hurricane Irma, Sheriff Rick Staly is reminding residents of the importance of hiring licensed contractors. In Flagler County, all contractors are required to have a license if they are doing anything more than tree or debris removal. Ask to see the license and then verify that it is valid through the City of Palm Coast or the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Sheriff Initiates "Operation Sandbag" with Jail Inmates

Sep 8, 2017 - Sheriff Rick Staly has inmates at Bunnell Fire Station 62 located at 1601 Old Moody Boulevard, Bunnell, to help fill sandbags. There are plenty of sand bags available at this location. Self-serve sand is available at Fire Station 92 on Airport Road but at this location you will need to bring your own bags.

Schools Temporarily Locked Down After Armed Residential Burglary

Sep 5, 2017 - Deputies responded to a reported residential burglary on Bunker Knolls Lane in Palm Coast Tuesday morning around 8:20 a.m. A resident reported an armed male forced entry into the home before exiting through the back door. It is unknown if anything was stolen at this time.

Three Suspects Arrested for Overnight Car Burglaries

Sep 4, 2017 - Four vehicle burglaries were reported Monday morning in the Woodlands area of Palm Coast. Patrol deputies and K-9s set a perimeter to search the area. Investigators followed leads on the use of a stolen credit card and tracked purchases to the Palm Coast Wal-Mart. Investigators were able to identify the suspects based on video surveillance at Wal-Mart. Investigators made contact with three suspects and took them into custody.
