Suspect Wanted in Flagler Beach Shooting Found Dead from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

Oct 17, 2024 - On October 16 at approximately 9:20 p.m., the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team arrived at a home on Lake Charles Lane in Palm Coast to serve an arrest warrant for Aggravated Battery and a search warrant for the residence. The subject, Yairton Garcia, 54, was also the suspect in the October 5 shooting on Northshore Boulevard in Flagler Beach

Oct 16, 2024 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office now uses the most advanced forensic imaging system to combat crime in Flagler County. The new Arrowhead Forensics Full Spectrum Imaging System II allows crime scene investigators to detect fingerprints on objects and humans in the FCSO Crime Laboratory or at the scene of the crime.

Oct 14, 2024 - At 11:33 p.m. on October 10, Sergeant Samuel Bell observed a white Hyundai Genesis make multiple U-turns from the middle lane near the intersection of Belle Terre Parkway and Palm Coast Parkway. Bell conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Stephen Speller of Palm Coast. Speller’s birthday was the same day, and he had just turned 57 years old.

Four Juveniles Caught Burglarizing and Damaging Home Under Construction

Oct 4, 2024 - On October 3 at about 2:30 a.m., Deputy Caleb Tassey was patrolling the area of Cormorant Court in Palm Coast when he observed a person on a bicycle leaving the area of a home under construction. Deputy Tassey conducted a security check of the home and requested backup. As deputies were clearing the inside of the residence, they observed three people run from the back of the house and into a canal. Deputies pursued them and saw two males and a female jump into the water.
