Inmate Dies Overnight Following DUI Arrest

Jan 9, 2026 - A Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility inmate has died overnight following his DUI arrest after crashing into a building in Palm Coast. Breathalyzer testing indicates that he had a blood alcohol content of more than four times the legal limit.

Jan 2, 2026 - Following an extensive investigation led by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit, additional charges have been added — including kidnapping and child abuse — against Darnell Hairston, a registered sexual offender who was found travelling in a vehicle with a juvenile who had been previously reported missing.
