Following an investigation by the Major Case Unit, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Palm Coast man who detectives determined drove up to a teenage girl, exposed himself, and masturbated in front of her.
A vigilant citizen who “saw something and said something” lead Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies to a man who had stolen power tools and had narcotics in his possession.
Kermit Booth — a Flagler County fugitive from justice who was arrested in North Carolina, released on bail, arrested again, and extradited back to Florida by Sheriff Rick Staly personally in September 2025 — has been convicted and sentenced.
Wednesday morning, Jose Valerio-Rodriguez, 70, a Cuban national illegally in the U.S., plead guilty to unlawful sexual activity with a minor and two counts of lewd or lascivious touching of a minor.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies made 13 arrests this past weekend between 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, and 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. Deputies handled 853 calls for service and made 203 traffic stops.
