RICK STALY, SHERIFF

"An Honor to Serve, A Duty to Protect"

Unmanned Aircraft Systems Unit

Deputies in the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Unit, also known as the "drone team," are highly trained members of FCSO's Community Policing Division that utilize the latest in UAS/UAV technology to assist in the agency's mission to protect our citizens and provide the highest level of service possible.

All of our UAV pilots are certified by the FAA as remote pilots under CFR Part 107. Additionally, they demonstrate platform proficiency under guidelines established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) so that they are prepared to assist patrol deputies from the air with missing person searches, fugitive apprehension, traffic pattern monitoring, and tactical support for improved officer safety conditions.
