Home Needing Repairs? Hire Licensed Contractors

Sep 12, 2017 - As the county begins to assess the damage from Hurricane Irma, Sheriff Rick Staly is reminding residents of the importance of hiring licensed contractors. In Flagler County, all contractors are required to have a license if they are doing anything more than tree or debris removal. Ask to see the license and then verify that it is valid through the City of Palm Coast or the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Sep 8, 2017 - Sheriff Rick Staly has inmates at Bunnell Fire Station 62 located at 1601 Old Moody Boulevard, Bunnell, to help fill sandbags. There are plenty of sand bags available at this location. Self-serve sand is available at Fire Station 92 on Airport Road but at this location you will need to bring your own bags.

Three Suspects Arrested for Overnight Car Burglaries

Sep 4, 2017 - Four vehicle burglaries were reported Monday morning in the Woodlands area of Palm Coast. Patrol deputies and K-9s set a perimeter to search the area. Investigators followed leads on the use of a stolen credit card and tracked purchases to the Palm Coast Wal-Mart. Investigators were able to identify the suspects based on video surveillance at Wal-Mart. Investigators made contact with three suspects and took them into custody.

Flagler Sheriff’s detectives have followed all leads in an attempt to identify the suspects. While detectives believe the graffiti is related, they do not believe it is racially motivated or gang related.

Man Arrested for Assisting Self-Murder

Aug 16, 2017 - Bruce Haughton, 52, is currently being booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility for Assisting Self-Murder of his girlfriend Katherine Goddard. On June 30, deputies responded to 29 Red Clover Lane in reference to a death investigation. There deputies found Bruce Haughton and Katherine Goddard inside their vehicle parked in the garage. Haughton had a pulse and was breathing; Goddard was unresponsive without a pulse.
