Oct 10, 2017 - “This was the right decision by the State Attorney’s Office to charge him as an adult,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “This is an example of us working together with State Attorney Larizza’s Office to get tougher penalties for violent offenders.”

FCSO Receives $158,000 Grant for Victim Services

Oct 9, 2017 - The Office of the Attorney General, Bureau of Advocacy and Grants Management has awarded the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant for 2017-2018 in the amount of $158,889.60.

Walmart Bandits Arrested In Daytona Beach

Oct 9, 2017 - Two subjects arrested by the Daytona Beach Police Department on October 1st for shoplifting have been positively identified as the same suspects from a September 27th shoplifting incident at the Palm Coast Walmart where nearly $20,000.00 in cell phones were stolen.

Stolen Firearm Recovered, Felon Arrested

Oct 6, 2017 - “I’m glad we were able to take a gun from the hands of a four-time convicted felon,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Hopefully he’s in for a long stay at the Green Roof Inn and state prison.” As a four-time convicted felon, Swindell is eligible for career criminal prosecution with enhanced penalties up to life in prison.

Man Arrested for Trafficking in Methamphetamine

Oct 5, 2017 - Toumbs was booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility and is being held on a $39,000.00 bond. In addition to the trafficking and cocaine charges, Toumbs faces charges of possession of hydrocodone, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, and fleeing and eluding law enforcement from today’s arrest.

Juvenile Arrested for Armed Robbery

Oct 3, 2017 - Anderson was arrested for armed robbery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in public, possession of a firearm by a minor, carrying a concealed weapon, petit theft, grand theft over $300.00, giving a false name while detained, and criminal mischief resulting in more than $200.00 in damages. He was booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility and released to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).

Operation Heat Seeker: Joint Agency Initiative

Sep 29, 2017 - Operation Heat Seeker began in May with an aim to identify and arrest violent felons within the community that were dealing drugs and guns. Sheriff Rick Staly held a press conference Friday morning with members of ATF, FDLE, Northeast Florida HIDTA, the Bunnell Police Department, the US Attorney’s Office and the 7th Circuit State Attorney’s Office regarding the outcome of the operation.

Taking A ‘Bite out of Crime’ Suspicious Person Arrested On Warrant Charges

Sep 27, 2017 - The suspect is known to deputies as Nathan Michael Ballance, DOB 8/9/1990, and has an active felony warrant for robbery. Deputies established a perimeter, along with the assistance of the Flagler County FireFlight Emergency Helicopter and K-9 Deputy Tag. K-9 Tag was able to apprehend the suspect in the woods and Ballance was taken into custody.

Sep 21, 2017 - Around 1:15 p.m. Thursday, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jovawn Namor McClendon, 16, on charges of burglary of a structure, petit theft, and criminal mischief for burglarizing Big Nick’s Boom Boom Sticks in July.

Fireworks Victim Receives Help from Shriners Hospital

Sep 20, 2017 - Two boys, ages 7 and 8, sustained significant life altering injuries on Sunday, July 9th after lighting fireworks that exploded on them at Dr. Carver Park in Bunnell. The boys claimed they found the fireworks laying around but detectives believe they came from a burglarized fireworks business where dozens of extremely dangerous and altered fireworks were stolen.

Deputies Investigating Apparent Homicide

Sep 19, 2017 - Flagler Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday morning regarding a male lying in a driveway on Parkview Drive in Palm Coast. The victim was transported to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach where he later died.

Sep 19, 2017 - After a thorough investigation by detectives, Clarence Edward Murphy Jr, DOB 9/20/1975, was arrested for First Degree Murder. He is currently being booked into the Flagler County Detention Facility with no bond.

K-9 Deputy Takes Bite Out of Crime

Sep 13, 2017 - Deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call from Big Bear Lane in Palm Coast for a report of a car burglary. Deputies met with a victim who reported seeing a male take money from his vehicle and run down the street. A perimeter was established and Corporal Gimbel and his K-9 partner Marko apprehended the suspect.
