Feb 15, 2018 - After several interviews, and a thorough investigation, detectives determined probable cause existed to arrest Deviaun Toler, 26, for two counts of Aggravated Child Abuse. He was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility and is being held with no bond.

Heroic Actions by Inmates and Deputies Save Inmate from Suicide Attempt

Feb 13, 2018 - “Our Detention Facility has fencing on the second floor of the cell blocks in order to prevent falls or suicide attempts,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Due to the location of the security of the catwalk, this inmate attempted to hang himself from the hand rail on the stairs. Thankfully other inmates and Detention Deputies reacted quickly and were able to save him. I commend the inmates and deputies heroic actions for helping save a life together.”

Feb 9, 2018 - In total, detectives seized 20 oxycodone tablets, approximately 2 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 2 grams of an unknown brown powder substance that will be sent off for chemical analysis, approximately 14.5 grams of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia.

New Signage at Flagler County Detention Facility

Feb 8, 2018 - “The purpose of the signs is crime prevention,” Sheriff Staly said. “It is a warning to potential offenders that the jail is not a 5-star hotel. When you are arrested, we provide the minimum accommodations as required by law. Once an offender ‘checks-in’ they lose their basic freedoms. They don’t decide what to eat, wear, or do with their day.” Sheriff Staly added, “Hopefully when people see the signs and the list of accommodations offered they will think twice about committing a crime in Flagler County.”

Arrest Warrant Scam Hits Flagler County

Feb 2, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has received several complaints from residents saying they have received phone calls by persons claiming to be a Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputy and attempting to trick the victims into believing they have an outstanding warrant for an unpaid debt, missed jury duty or some minor infraction and that a fine is due. The callers then are trying to convince people to make the payments by wiring it through Western Union MoneyGram or buying a prepaid credit card (like Green Dot) and registering it online.

Jan 23, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has seen an increase in reported counterfeit currency use. Since December 19, there have been several reported incidents of counterfeit currency being used to purchase items from small businesses as well as person-to-person sales on sites like Craigslist.com. Two incidents have involved counterfeit bills with markings that read “Replica” and “Motion Picture Use Only.”
