Green Roof Inn Reaches New Record High Inmate Population – 243 Inmates

Jun 8, 2018 - In a new population report released by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, it was revealed that the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility has reached a record high number of currently housed inmates. As of today, there are 243 inmates all under one Green Roof.

Jun 7, 2018 - A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) will arrive on July 17 to examine all aspects of the Flagler County Sheriff Office policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has to comply with approximately 260 standards in order to receive Accredited Status. Many of the standards are critical to life, health and safety issues.

Deputies Respond to Smash and Grab Car Burglaries at Frieda Zamba Pool

Jun 6, 2018 - Deputies responded to Frieda Zamba Pool at 339 Parkview Drive in Palm Coast on Tuesday evening. An unknown suspect or suspects had smashed the driver’s side window on three locked vehicles in the parking lot stealing purses from within. Over $1,000.00 in merchandise was stolen as well as a 7-night vacation package, gift cards, and miscellaneous items.

Sheriff's Deputy in DUI Patrol Car Arrests Drunk Driver

Jun 4, 2018 - Deputy David Lichty was operating the Sheriff’s Taxi-Patrol car on Saturday evening when he spotted a vehicle traveling northbound on Seminole Woods Boulevard in Palm Coast at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane. After Deputy Lichty activated the emergency lights and sirens, the suspect vehicle continued to drive recklessly at speeds exceeding 84 mph and failed to stop for law enforcement.

Numerous Calls to Problem Home Reveals Drug Operation, Two Arrests

May 30, 2018 - Julius Calloway, 69, led deputies to Methamphetamines and Drug Paraphernalia in his master bedroom closet, safe, and master bathroom. During the investigation, a guest of the home, Erica Bertha, 29, was packing her bags to leave when deputies noticed a baggy with a white crystal substance in between her stack of clothes. This substance tested positive for Methamphetamines and weighed 12.2 grams.

Sheriff Unveils Agency's Full-Time Marine Unit in Honor of Captain Grady Prather

May 23, 2018 - The re-launching of the full-time Marine/Beach Unit is in honor of Captain Grady Prather, a 33-year veteran of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office who headed up the Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, which he also created. Captain Prather retired on January 31, 2008 after 33 years of dedicated service to Flagler County. He passed away on November 17, 2009. In 2011, an artificial reef was deployed in Flagler Beach through grants from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation and the St. Augustine Port, Waterway and Beach District. The reef was named in honor of the late Captain Grady Prather.

Two Arrested for Burglary after Ground and Air Search

May 23, 2018 - A residential burglary on Brewster Lane in Palm Coast began a 2-hour search for two suspects. A nearby resident called 9-1-1 to report that two males dropped a wide screen television beside 95 Brewster Lane and fled on foot. A perimeter was established by deputies and K-9 units, and Flagler County’s Fire Flight emergency helicopter assisted in the search by air.

Heroin Overdose at Palm Coast Intersection, Deputy Deploys Narcan to Save Life

May 21, 2018 - Flagler County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an overdose call on Sunday evening at the intersection of Webwood Place and Webster Lane in Palm Coast. Deputies found an unresponsive male with faint blue lips, cheeks and eyelids. A female on scene notified deputies that the male had injected himself with heroin. Deputy David Agata deployed his agency issued Narcan nasal spray and rescue units arrived and transported the male to Florida Hospital Flagler.

May 19, 2018 - The charges are piling up for Christopher Heath, even while he is still in jail. Further investigation into the fraudulent bills found within Heath’ residence has connected him to another crime that occurred on May 10th when Heath bought an ATV from an unsuspecting seller via Craigslist using his counterfeit cash.

FCSO Arrest on Volusia County Warrant Leads to Uncovering Counterfeit Money Operation

May 18, 2018 - On May 17th, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a warrant service requested by Volusia County at 2327 Water Oak Road in Bunnel, FL for Christopher Heath. Contact was made with Heath who was attempting to leave the property in a truck. Heath fled to the rear of the residence but deputies were able to apprehend him. During his arrest, Heath dropped an envelope containing counterfeit money.

Upon FCSO arrival it was discovered that the fire was started in a restroom when a 1st grade student lit a paper towel dispenser on fire in an attempt to change the color of his mood ring.

May 8, 2018 - A Grand Jury indicted 46-year-old Michael Cummings on one count of first-degree murder on Thursday. On January 15, Cummings was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his ex-wife Faith Lorraine Cummings, 44, who was found beaten and strangled at her Palm Coast home on January 11.
