Master Detective Gordon was selected as Officer of the Year among law enforcement agencies with over 125 sworn members, among nominees from four other agencies across Putnam, St. Johns, and Volusia counties.

FCSO SIU Serves Warrants for Palm Coast Drug Trafficker

Aug 27, 2025 - Following a lengthy investigation by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit, detectives served three arrest warrants on Tram Nguyen, 37, a Palm Coast drug trafficker and current inmate at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. These warrants stem from a series of undercover narcotics purchases that occurred earlier this year.

Case Update: Florida Governor Issues Extradition Request for North Carolina to Turn Florida Fugitive Over to FCSO Custody

Aug 22, 2025 - On August 20, 2025, Gov. Ron DeSantis issued an extradition request to the Governor of North Carolina for Florida fugitive Kermit Booth, 72, of Franklin, North Carolina. Booth had been arrested on August 1, 2025, in Macon County, North Carolina, as a fugitive from justice on a Flagler County warrant for two counts of sexual battery on a person less than 12 years of age with a Florida bond of $500,000. This is a capital crime with a penalty of life in prison in Florida. A Macon County, N.C., magistrate set Booth’s bond at $35,000, and he posted bond and was released by Macon County, N.C., authorities.

CASE UPDATE: Palm Coast Man Sentenced to 14-Years in Prison for Child Sex Offense

Aug 21, 2025 - On August 20, 2025, David Chenowith, 33, of Palm Coast, was sentenced to 14 years in the Florida Department of Corrections, with credit for 398 days of time served, after accepting a plea deal in a child sex offense case. These charges include lewd and lascivious battery, unlawful sexual activity with a minor, and promoting sexual performance of a minor.

Russian National Arrested for Credit Card Fraud in Palm Coast, Suspect in Country Illegally

Aug 11, 2025 - On Friday, August 8, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Mikhail Vasilev, 43, an illegal Russian national living in Palm Coast on two warrants for credit card fraud following two separate investigations conducted by FCSO detectives. Vasilev obtained customer credit cards to purchase construction material for residential home repairs and later used the cards for unauthorized, personal transactions.
