Woman Charged for Helping Missing Teen Run Away

Jun 29, 2018 - After FCSO sent out a news release on Tuesday naming Kindra as person of interest in Samantha’s disappearance, Samantha approached a police officer in South Florida and identified herself as a missing person. When Samantha was located, she admitted that Kindra had purchased and given her a cell phone on the night she went missing and that this entire 8-month investigation could have been avoided had Kindra simply cooperated with law enforcement.

UPDATE: Samantha Posella Located Alive and Well

Jun 26, 2018 - Missing teenager Samantha Posella has been located alive and well in South Florida. Samantha went to a local Police Station in South Florida on Tuesday to notify authorities that she was reported missing in October of 2017 but investigators have determined she was living in South Florida using an alias.

FCSO Seeking Public's Assistance in Missing Person Case

Jun 25, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is asking for anyone with information on the whereabouts of Samantha Lynn Posella, 18, of Llama Trail in Palm Coast to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately. Samantha was last seen on October 24, 2017 and may have been the victim of a crime.

FCSO Sergeant Demoted to Deputy For Unsatisfactory Performance

Jun 22, 2018 - On Friday, June 22, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Tammy Stakes, of the Court and Detention Services Division, was served a notice of intent to be demoted to Deputy effective Monday, July 2, 2018 following an internal investigation into performance issues regarding incidents that occurred at the Flagler County Detention Facility in January of 2018 and later.

Man Arrested for Trafficking Bath Salts, Child Neglect

Jun 22, 2018 - On Thursday, June 21, 2018, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit and SWAT Team executed a Search Warrant at 57 Blakemore Drive in Palm Coast. The Search Warrant was the result of a two-month long investigation. The Special Investigations Unit received multiple complaints of heavy traffic in and out of the residence at all hours of the day and night.

FCSO Warns of Scam Targeting Military Families

Jun 21, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) wants to warn residents of a new scam targeting military families with fraudulent phone calls. TRICARE first reported concerns about fraudulent calls from the number (516) 253-2565 in late May. They say scammers are encouraging people to give them their personal identifying information. TRICARE and its contractors will never call and ask for sensitive information or health information over the phone.

Sheriff’s Operations Center Evacuated

Jun 15, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Operations Center at 901 East Moody Boulevard was completely evacuated as of 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The move began with the east side of the building on Monday and concluded with the executive offices on Friday. The Sheriff and his executive staff were the final tenants to vacate the building.

Featured Fugitive Friday Bingo “Winner” Arrested Within One Hour of Airing – Wanted for Sex Offense Involving a Child

Jun 8, 2018 - Less than one hour after the weekly Fugitive Friday Bingo video posted to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office social media sites on Friday morning, the featured fugitive Warren Putt Jr., 39, was taken into custody by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit. Putt had an active felony warrant for lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim younger than 12 years old.

Green Roof Inn Reaches New Record High Inmate Population – 243 Inmates

Jun 8, 2018 - In a new population report released by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, it was revealed that the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility has reached a record high number of currently housed inmates. As of today, there are 243 inmates all under one Green Roof.

Accreditation Team Invites Public Comments about Flagler County Sheriff's Office

Jun 7, 2018 - A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) will arrive on July 17 to examine all aspects of the Flagler County Sheriff Office policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office has to comply with approximately 260 standards in order to receive Accredited Status. Many of the standards are critical to life, health and safety issues.

Deputies Respond to Smash and Grab Car Burglaries at Frieda Zamba Pool

Jun 6, 2018 - Deputies responded to Frieda Zamba Pool at 339 Parkview Drive in Palm Coast on Tuesday evening. An unknown suspect or suspects had smashed the driver’s side window on three locked vehicles in the parking lot stealing purses from within. Over $1,000.00 in merchandise was stolen as well as a 7-night vacation package, gift cards, and miscellaneous items.

Sheriff's Deputy in DUI Patrol Car Arrests Drunk Driver

Jun 4, 2018 - Deputy David Lichty was operating the Sheriff’s Taxi-Patrol car on Saturday evening when he spotted a vehicle traveling northbound on Seminole Woods Boulevard in Palm Coast at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane. After Deputy Lichty activated the emergency lights and sirens, the suspect vehicle continued to drive recklessly at speeds exceeding 84 mph and failed to stop for law enforcement.

Numerous Calls to Problem Home Reveals Drug Operation, Two Arrests

May 30, 2018 - Julius Calloway, 69, led deputies to Methamphetamines and Drug Paraphernalia in his master bedroom closet, safe, and master bathroom. During the investigation, a guest of the home, Erica Bertha, 29, was packing her bags to leave when deputies noticed a baggy with a white crystal substance in between her stack of clothes. This substance tested positive for Methamphetamines and weighed 12.2 grams.

May 29, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office fired Detention Deputy Mark Sousa on May 16 after Sousa failed to comply with the requirements of his disciplinary probation for previous policy violations.

May 24, 2018 - “These are career criminals with a rap sheet a mile long that we are constantly dealing with,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Our deputies did a great job in keeping the community safe while these two events were unfolding simultaneously. I hope the courts send them both away to prison for a very long time.”

Sheriff Unveils Agency's Full-Time Marine Unit in Honor of Captain Grady Prather

May 23, 2018 - The re-launching of the full-time Marine/Beach Unit is in honor of Captain Grady Prather, a 33-year veteran of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office who headed up the Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, which he also created. Captain Prather retired on January 31, 2008 after 33 years of dedicated service to Flagler County. He passed away on November 17, 2009. In 2011, an artificial reef was deployed in Flagler Beach through grants from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation and the St. Augustine Port, Waterway and Beach District. The reef was named in honor of the late Captain Grady Prather.
