Woman Charged for Helping Missing Teen Run Away

Jun 29, 2018 - After FCSO sent out a news release on Tuesday naming Kindra as person of interest in Samantha’s disappearance, Samantha approached a police officer in South Florida and identified herself as a missing person. When Samantha was located, she admitted that Kindra had purchased and given her a cell phone on the night she went missing and that this entire 8-month investigation could have been avoided had Kindra simply cooperated with law enforcement.

Samantha went to a local Police Station in South Florida on Tuesday to notify authorities that she was reported missing in October of 2017 but investigators have determined she was living in South Florida using an alias.

Jun 22, 2018 - On Thursday, June 21, 2018, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit and SWAT Team executed a Search Warrant at 57 Blakemore Drive in Palm Coast. The Search Warrant was the result of a two-month long investigation. The Special Investigations Unit received multiple complaints of heavy traffic in and out of the residence at all hours of the day and night.

Jun 21, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) wants to warn residents of a new scam targeting military families with fraudulent phone calls. TRICARE first reported concerns about fraudulent calls from the number (516) 253-2565 in late May. They say scammers are encouraging people to give them their personal identifying information. TRICARE and its contractors will never call and ask for sensitive information or health information over the phone.

Jun 15, 2018 - The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Operations Center at 901 East Moody Boulevard was completely evacuated as of 2:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The move began with the east side of the building on Monday and concluded with the executive offices on Friday. The Sheriff and his executive staff were the final tenants to vacate the building.

Jun 4, 2018 - Deputy David Lichty was operating the Sheriff’s Taxi-Patrol car on Saturday evening when he spotted a vehicle traveling northbound on Seminole Woods Boulevard in Palm Coast at a high rate of speed in the southbound lane. After Deputy Lichty activated the emergency lights and sirens, the suspect vehicle continued to drive recklessly at speeds exceeding 84 mph and failed to stop for law enforcement.

May 30, 2018 - Julius Calloway, 69, led deputies to Methamphetamines and Drug Paraphernalia in his master bedroom closet, safe, and master bathroom. During the investigation, a guest of the home, Erica Bertha, 29, was packing her bags to leave when deputies noticed a baggy with a white crystal substance in between her stack of clothes. This substance tested positive for Methamphetamines and weighed 12.2 grams.

Sheriff Unveils Agency's Full-Time Marine Unit in Honor of Captain Grady Prather

May 23, 2018 - The re-launching of the full-time Marine/Beach Unit is in honor of Captain Grady Prather, a 33-year veteran of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office who headed up the Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, which he also created. Captain Prather retired on January 31, 2008 after 33 years of dedicated service to Flagler County. He passed away on November 17, 2009. In 2011, an artificial reef was deployed in Flagler Beach through grants from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation and the St. Augustine Port, Waterway and Beach District. The reef was named in honor of the late Captain Grady Prather.
