ABOUT THE CASE

On Sept. 25, 2008, Patricia Ferro was reported missing by an out-of-state family member after she had not been heard from for a while. Deputies attempted to make contact with Patricia at her last known address on Coral Reef Court in Palm Coast and found out she had been evicted a year prior.

An investigation revealed that Patricia was a known heroin addict and that deputies had previously found her driver's license and other property under the Hammock Dunes Bridge in 2007. Detectives also determined that Patricia had been a recipient of Social Security and food stamps but had not attempted to use these benefits in over a year.
